WISDOM WHISPERS
& learning to take up space
ABOUT ME
Sophia Forbes Marciniak
If you were to spot me on a sunny day in Ann
Arbor, where I study Communication Studies and
Writing at the University of Michigan, there is a
good chance you would find me journaling
underneath a tree while taking intermittent sips
from a vanilla latte. However, winter here can be
dilapidating. On the colder days, I enjoy
hibernating under my covers, most likely either
re-reading the Harry Potter series or making my
way though the "Because you watched..." prompts
on Netflix.
There are many more things I
could tell you about myself, but if
you left this site only knowing one
thing, I want you to how much
Jesus loves me.
Before Jesus beautifully shattered my perception
of reality, I thought I was the happiest that I could
be considering my circumstances. My social media
platforms would have told you that I was a pretty,
popular, songwriting, volleyball-playing, "Christian"
who never didn't have a boyfriend. But in the place
I didn't let anyone see, I was the scared little girl
who's dad died when she was eight. She equally
craved and shied away from love/protection/
affection, because her father wasn't there to teach
her these things.
I say Jesus shattered my life because there is no
other way I can fathom to articulate it. He told me,
and continues to teach me, how beautiful and
worthy of care my heart is.
I created Wisper Wisdoms: & learning to take up
space because I am choosing to believe that my
thoughts and feelings are important (also because
I don't have enough writing assignments for my
classes...HA.) In this space, you will find pieces of my
heart/mind, Jesus epiphanies, songs I write, and
commentary about things that inspire me in the
day-to-day. Thank you for reading!
Do you have questions about what I'm posting?
